Configuring Microsoft Windows 95/98

Follow these 9 steps to configure your Windows 95/98 PC to connect to Silicon Dairy.


Step 1

Double-click on the My Computer icon on your desktop.



Step 2

In the My Computer window, double-click on the icon named Dial-up Networking.



Step 3

Once the Dial-Up Networking window opens, double-click on the Make New Connection icon.



Step 4

After clicking the icon, a wizard will start. In the field asking you to name the connection, enter Silicon Dairy. Click the Next button when done.



Step 5

Enter phone number of the local Silicon Dairy access number you will be dialing into. If you do not remember your dial-up access number, use our ->Dialup Access Number search tool. Click the Next button to continue.



Step 6

Once you create the Silicon Dairy dial-up icon, you should check the dial-up Properties and make sure they are set properly. Right-click on the new Silicon Dairy dial-up icon to bring up the menu and select Properties.



Step 7

Click on the Server Types tab and set your computer as shown on the picture. Once you've verified all the settings, click on the TCP/IP Settings button.



Step 8

Compare the image in this step with the TCP/IP Settings window on your computer. Specifically, ensure Server assigned IP address, Server assigned name server addresses, and the two check boxes Use IP header compression and Use default gateway on remote network are all selected by clicking the checkbox or raido button to the left of the text. Click OK when finished.



Step 9

Double-click on your new Silicon Dairy dial-up icon and enter the information asked for in the window that pops up.

Username: Your username must be entered in all lowercase letters, with no spaces or punctuation.

Password: Enter the password assigned to you. Please take note: passwords are case-sensitive. Passwords assigned by Silicon Dairy are at least 8 characters in length and are all lowercase letters.

Save Password: If you want Windows to save your password, check the Save Password check box.

Click the Connect button and your computer should dial up and connect to Silicon Dairy's network.
