If you have an e-mail program not covered in any of the other guides, the following information should get you up and running with your Silicon Dairy e-mail. If you require assistance, please contact Technical Support.

Incoming Mail Server (POP3 or IMAP)

Silicon Dairy supports both IMAP and POP3 for retrieving your mail. If you're not sure which one you should be using, the safe choice is POP3. For POP3 connections, your mail program should be configured to retrieve mail from pop.silicondairy.net. IMAP connections are available via imap.silicondairy.net.

Outgoing Mail (SMTP)

Outgoing mail is services are provided by mail.silicondairy.net. Your mail software should be set to deliver mail through this server. Due to strict anti-spam policies, Silicon Dairy members with their own mail servers should relay all mail through this server.

A Note About Mail Security (SSL/TLS)

This section is for advanced users concerned about e-mail security.

All Silicon Dairy mail services support TLS/SSL connections. This service provides an encrypted pathway between the mail server (both incoming and outgoing) and your computer. If you're concerned about security, it is recommended to enable TLS/SSL in your mail software.

If you receive a warning concerning the validity of the SSL certificates installed on pop, imap, and mail, you will need to download and install the "Root Certificate" update from ->CA Cert.

Warning: Enabling SSL/TLS will increase the amount of data your computer sends and receives when communicating with Silicon Dairy's mail services. This basically means your mail may take longer than usual to send and receive.
