Mozilla Thunderbird

Mozilla Thunderbird is a free, ->open source e-mail application available for download from the ->Mozilla Foundation. Silicon Dairy highly recommends Mozilla Thunderbird due to its ease of use, built-in security features, and advanced junk mail (spam) filtering. You can download Mozilla Thunderbird from the ->Mozilla Foundation.



Step 1

Launch Mozilla Thunderbird. From the Tools menu, click on Account Settings...



Step 2

In the lower-left corner, click on the Add Account button.



Step 3

Mozilla Thunderbird can support multiple ways of communicating on the Internet. In this case, click on the small button next to E-Mail Account, then click Next. The other options are covered elsewhere.



Step 4

In the Your Name blank, fill in the name you would like your recipients to see in messages you send them.

Fill in your Silicon Dairy e-mail address in the E-Mail Address space.

Click Next when done.



Step 5

Choose POP3 from the server choices at the top.

For Incoming Server, type pop.silicondairy.net.

If you intend to use Thunderbird for multiple e-mail boxes, uncheck the box next to Use global INBOX.

Click Next when complete.



Step 6

Complete your Incoming and Outgoing usernames. This is the first half of your e-mail address with Silicon Dairy before the @ symbol. Use the same username for both spaces.

Click the Next button to proceed.



Step 7

Under Account Name fill in your full e-mail address.

Click Next when done.



Step 8

This final review screen allows you to double-check that everything you entered is correct. If something is not correct, use the Back button to make changes.

If everything looks correct, click the Finish button.



Step 9

Congratulations! You have completed the necessary steps for sending and receiving your Silicon Dairy e-mail in Mozilla Thunderbird. You can click the OK button to begin using the software.
