MooMail Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) These are the most common questions asked about our MooMail service. | How much disk space comes with my MooMail box? |
You are allowed 100mb of storage. 100mb is equivalent to 102,400,000 individual characters (letters of the alphabet, numbers, punctuation, and symbols) in an e-mail message. We're always increasing the amount of disk space allocated to MooMail accounts, based on member usage. | What will my e-mail address be? |
You can send and receive e-mail using username@silicondairy.net or username@moomail.net. There's no need to choose one or the other as messages sent to both addresses will be delivered to your INBOX. (Most people seem to choose "moomail.net" though!) | What is the largest file attachment I can send? |
Silicon Dairy has a hard limit on file attachments of 5mb.
However, care should be taken to ensure the recipient of your attachments is capable of receiving your attachments. If you intend on sending multiple large files, consider sending one e-mail message per file.
If your files exceed 5mb, consider uploading the file to your personal web space and then simply e-mail a link to it to your recipient. | How do I access my MooMail account? |
You can download your mail using a traditional POP3/IMAP client such as Mozilla Thunderbitd, Eudora, Microsoft Outlook Express, and more.
Our web-based Member Portal also includes an e-mail system you can access right from your favorite web browser. |
