Creating a Network Place to Your Personal Web Space

The first step in accessing your Personal Web Space is to create a "Network Place" on your computer to be able to add/remove files easily.

Step 1

Double-click on the My Network Places icon on your computer's desktop to open the "My Network Places" dialog box.

Step 2

Double-click on the Add Network Place to start the setup wizard.

Step 3

The setup wizard should start up. On the first screen, simply click the Next button to proceed.

Step 4

The dialog will ask you where you want to create this network place. Choose Choose another network location and then click the Next button.

Step 5

You'll now be asked for the address of the network location. Type (exactly) ftp://members.silicondairy.net/ in the blank provided, and then click the Next button.

Step 6

The wizard will now ask for your login information. Uncheck the Log on Anonymously checkbox, and then type your Silicon Dairy username in the space provided. Your username is the first half of your e-mail address before the @-symbol. Click the Next button when done.

Step 7

You'll now be prompted to enter a name for this network place. You may use the default name if you wish. To continue, click the Next button.

Step 8

You've completed the setup of your network place. To exit the wizard, click on the Finish button.
